Q&A with Joseph Huang, Arizona State University

June 8th, 2020Joseph Huang

What is your current role at your institution? I am the Executive Director at Arizona State University, managing a team of research focused officers in the Schools of Engineering.

How long have you been a NACRO member? Three years now. My first meeting was in 2017 (Seattle).

What do you enjoy most about your NACRO membership? Finding out that there are like minded people across several countries who do the same job that my team does, who face the same opportunities and challenges. There is a sense that this is a career and that people can grow with it.

So far, what has been your greatest Corporate Relations success? What has been your greatest challenge? We have been able to bring together several real estate and research combination packages that would not have been possible a few years ago. Our greatest challenge continues to be stitching together alliances inside the university, when the incentives actually encourage us to work apart.

What’s something about you (a fun fact) that not many people know? I have owned two cars that have both crossed the 200,000 miles (320,000 km) odometer mark.
